We are a youth provision for all young people in the Durham area and are now based at Belmont Community Centre in Durham. Twenty five years ago Pat and Dave Hill who founded the project ensured that our constitution included work with young people with disabilities. The motto "Action not Apathy" was born and we encourage what young people with disabilities can do through our projects and clubs. We host regular clubs for all ages as well as Holiday provision was available and work delivering the Princes Trust in curriculum time at Trinity School. Ten years ago our young people requested that we offer an after school club at Trinity School so that they could meet up with their friends on a regular basis, the new 'Cheesy Waffles Club' was started meeting once a month. We have seen the group develop over the years and we now offer six regular clubs each week during term time. We have developed a fantastic partnership with Durham Trinity School that has helped us develop into the club we are today and we work very closely offering activities for young people who attend the school. Today We currently have 106 young people aged 11-29 registered and attending at least one of our clubs. Our continued work with mainstream clubs enables us to encourage integrated work and raise disability awareness among young people in the Durham and Chester-le-Street area.
