1st Staindrop Scouts - Community Voices

1st Staindrop Scouts established May 1910 are still based on the site of their original hut opened March 1914. Our group is anything but old fashioned if your child wants relevant, modern, exciting scouting they need look no further than ours. If you still think Scouting is just about boys, tents and woggles, then take a look at their website or Facebook page – you might just change your mind.

Staindrop Scouts of all ages take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions, photography, climbing and zorbing. Our Scouts learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming, water skills, climbing, archery and loads more. There’s something for every young person. It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express creativity and experience the wider world.

These everyday adventures are possible thanks to the adult volunteers, who support Scouts in a wide range of roles from working directly with young people, to helping manage a Group, to being a charity Trustee.
